GUFC increases partnership with Guelph Soccer; men’s U20 tryouts start next week

Guelph United is excited to announce a new initiative in our partnership with Guelph Soccer. This fall, Guelph United’s U20 men’s team taking part in League1 Ontario’s U20 League will be run by Guelph Soccer. Players will still sign and play for Guelph United, but Guelph Soccer’s technical team will be the driving force during the season.

As part of this announcement, we are happy to reveal that the team’s coaches for this fall season will be Justin Springer, Harvey Marchant, and new Guelph Gryphons head coach Alan Koch.

This announcement will further solidify the commitment to strengthening the partnership between the local youth club, Guelph Soccer, and Guelph United FC. The two clubs are pillars of the community and a strong partnership can only grow soccer in Guelph and the surrounding areas.
— Keith Mason, Guelph United GM and Men's Head Coach
The Guelph Soccer Club is thrilled to be involved with the Guelph United U20 program. The spirit behind the multi-year player pathway agreement was to help grow the sport of soccer in our community and encourage players to aspire to compete in League1 with Guelph United. The U20 initiative this fall strengthens that partnership, and we are hopeful to be able to offer the same opportunity to the women’s program in the future.
— David Frizzell, Guelph Soccer Club Executive Director
