Guelph United to play home match at Oriental’s stadium in Cambridge

Guelph United’s men’s team will kick off their 2024 home schedule with a match in Cambridge, on the grounds of our new affiliate partner Oriental Sport Club.

Due to the Centennial Bowl not being ready before the second half of May, both our men’s and women’s teams will start the 2024 season with multiple away games - with the exception of the match in Cambridge, at Oriental Park.

GUFC will organize a free shuttle bus to and from Cambridge for our season ticket holders - details to follow closer to the date.

We are very excited to host our men’s home opener at our affiliate club’s home pitch at Oriental Park in Cambridge. With our new affiliation we are hoping to attract new fans from other communities and clubs, and with this game being played right in OSC’s backyard, it will be a great chance for their community to come and see high quality soccer. We will be running a school bus from Guelph for our local fans and season ticket holders to get to the game, and there will be food, a barbeque, drinks and many exciting things to ensure our fans from Guelph and Cambridge enjoy the first home game of the season
— Keith Mason, Guelph United GM

As part of the official release of the League1 Ontario openers, we now know when our two Premier Division teams are starting their season. GUFC Women kicks off their campaign in Vaughan, against NDC Ontario, on April 26. The next day, GUFC Men is travelling to Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, to play against local Forge FC affiliate club Hamilton United.

Meanwhile, the Centennial Bowl opener will happen on May 20. The Bowl will host a total of 19 games in league play (10 for men, 9 for women), plus a minimum 2 cup games (1 for each of our teams).

The full League1 Ontario schedule will be released later this week.

2024 Season Tickets can now be purchased from our shop. They include all 19 league home matches played at the Centennial Bowl, for both our men’s and women’s teams, as well as the home match in Cambridge (including free transportation), plus the 2 confirmed home cup games.
