GUFC re-signs Starcevic and Knafelc; promotes Mazier
Guelph United has re-signed three more players from our 2025 teams to this season’s senior roster: defender Alanna Starcevic, midfielder Kate Knafelc, and goalkeeper Jo Mazier.
Alanna Starcevic holds the record for most appearances in our women’s team’s history. She has been with us since 2022, and has played in 68 games over the last 4 seasons. At the end of the 2023 season, she won the GUFC U21 Player of the Year award.
Kate Knafelc is second on our all-time appearance chart, with 58 games played for GUFC since 2022. Last season, she was one of two players (the other being Olivia Brown) to have played in every single one of the 20 games.
Meanwhile, Jo Mazier has been re-signed and promoted to the senior team from our reserve roster. In her two seasons with our club, Jo has appeared in 17 games for our L2 and U20 teams, and has been called up 7 times to the main roster. During the league off-season, she is playing for the Guelph Gryphons in U Sports, appearing in 6 matches during her second year.
