GUFC signs Scottish forward Brett Findlay
Guelph United has signed Scottish forward Brett Findlay for the 2026 season.
Brett, 21, is a 6’5 striker born in Aberdeen, Scotland. He started his football career in his home country, playing for lower-tier clubs Bridge of Don Thistle FC and Banchory St Ternan FC, before moving to Canada last year.
He made his Canadian soccer debut playing in U Sports for the Algoma Thunderbirds out of Sault Ste. Marie, appearing in 11 games and scoring once in his first university season.
He will be making his OPL debut with Guelph United this summer.
In other news, after the 2026 league schedule was announced a couple of days ago, OPL today revealed the details about the OPL Cup First Round.
Guelph United’s men’s match against OPL 3 side Railway City FC will take place on April 11th, at 7 PM, in St. Thomas, ON. As previously announced, our women’s team has a bye in the first round, and will join the competition from Round 2.
