L1 Cup draw: GUFC teams find first opponents

League1 Ontario announced the brackets of the reborn L1 Cup, a knockout competition that will run in parallel with the leagues, and will feature all the teams in the L1O system, regardless of which tier they are part of.

Guelph United’s teams have learned their first opponents, and one got luckier than the other.

GUFC Men gets a bye in Round 1, because of our Premier Division status. In the Round of 16, we will face the winner of the match between Championship side Pickering FC, and newly formed League2 side Borough FC (based in Scarborough).

GUFC Women also have the first round off. However, the draw was much tougher for the Round of 16. Our opponent will be none other than 2023 Regular Season champion, and Playoff finalist, NDC Ontario.

Scheduling information for both matches will be announced at a later date.

For more information about the draw, you can visit League1 Ontario’s site.
