Gander, Fernandez, Ostrun and Yates re-sign with GUFC for 2024 season

Guelph United is happy to announce we have re-signed 4 of our core players from the 2023 season to new deals.

Colin Gander, Cole Fernandez, Anthony Ostrun and Gray Yates will all be back in Guelph in the 2024 season, joining new signing Jacob Cabral as the first 5 players announced from our 2024 roster.

It’s an honour to continue representing the club and our fantastic fans. Guelph has become a second home, and the support from the fans at the Bowl is incredible. The camaraderie within the squad, the energy of the supporters, and the passion for the game here in Guelph - it all creates an atmosphere that’s truly special to me. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
— Colin Gander

Colin Gander has been with Guelph United in the 2021 and 2023 seasons, only being away in 2022, when he played professionally for Halifax Wanderers in the Canadian Premier League. Last season, he has been one of the pillars of our squad, playing in 17 matches for GUFC, and scoring 4 goals.

Cole Fernandez has been our team’s revelation in 2023, ending the season with 20 appearances, 3 goals, and a well-deserved First-team Player of the Year at the GUFC Awards event. He followed that up with a stellar season for the Guelph Gryphons in U Sports, being selected in the U-Sports Second Team of the season.

Gray Yates and Anthony Ostrun have also been staples of our 2023 roster. Yates has amassed 19 appearances and 2 goals, while Ostrun has played in 18 matches and scored 1 goal for our Senior squad, as well as 4 matches for our championship-winning U21 side.

Stay tuned to our website and social media in the coming days, as we announce more signings for the new season.
