Guelph United signs U Sports standout Woody Bain

Guelph United is pleased to announce we have signed young Canadian full-back Woody Bain.

Just like our last week’s signing Luke Green, Woody hails from Nova Scotia, being a product of Suburban FC. In recent years, he has made a name for himself as one of the best players in the Atlantic conference of U Sports (AUS), which peaked the interest of CPL’s Halifax Wanderers, who invited him for multiple scrimmages with their U23 team.

At the end of this last U Sports season, playing for Saint Mary’s Huskies, he was named a First Team All-Star in the Atlantic Conference. He also declared for the CPL-U Sports Draft, but was not selected, which led him to sign with Guelph United for 2024.

I’m really looking forward to the challenge of League1. I think Justin and Keith are putting together an extremely special group. I can’t wait to meet the guys, and become a part of the program and the community!
