GUFC promotes Ivan Stupak and Chris Qushair to senior squad

Guelph United re-signed two more players from the reserve squad, and promoted them to the senior team for the 2026 season: midfielders Ivan Stupak and Chris Qushair.

It’s another move that proves the youth pipeline in our club is working, after GUFC already promoted 3 other top performers from the League2 and U20 squads: Cam Clack, Omar Ladhani and Ethan Fraser.

Stupak, who hails from Cambridge, ON, signed with Guelph United last season, and appeared in 6 games for the reserve squad, before being called up 10 times to the main roster. Following the GUFC season, Ivan has also debuted in U Sports, appearing in 3 games for the Guelph Gryphons, in his first year.

Chris Qushair has been a Guelph United player since 2023, and has amassed 54 appearances combined between the U19, U20 and L2 teams in the last 3 seasons, scoring 22 goals. In addition to the reserve games, he also appeared 8 times for the senior squad, scoring once. Following the impressive 2025 season, he won the League2 Ontario Southwest Division Midfielder of the Year, and also the Guelph United Reserve team MVP award.
