Mickael Rougette takes over as new Guelph United GM and men’s head coach
A familiar name is back in Guelph United colors. We’re happy to announce Mickael Rougette as GUFC’s new men’s head coach, as well as General Manager.
Mickael has been involved in Guelph soccer since 2018, occupying various positions with Guelph Soccer, the University of Guelph, and then taking over as Guelph United’s U21 assistant coach and U20 head coach.
At the beginning of 2025, he took over the GM position for new League2 club Cambridge United. In their first season, he helped promote both of their teams to the L1 Championship division.
Mickael is now taking over two roles with Guelph United: men’s head coach, as well as club General Manager, replacing Keith Mason.
Keith, who retired from coaching at the end of last year, also decided to retire from the day to day running of the club. He remains with Guelph United, however, as President and co-owner.
“Thank you to everyone who supported this process. Having been part of the club from 2020 to 2024, I’m grateful to return in a leadership capacity.
I look forward to working with the ownership group, staff and volunteers, partners, players, and our community, to strengthen our culture, build meaningful local connections, and advance a clear plan for long-term success on and off the pitch.”
Stay tuned to our website and social media channels, as we start to announce player signings for the upcoming 2026 season!
