Randy Ribeiro departs GUFC; Michael Warden takes over as women’s head coach

Randy Ribeiro has announced today his departure from Guelph United, effective immediately.

Randy has spent two excellent seasons as the head coach of our women’s team, finishing in 6th place of League1 Ontario’s Premier Division in 2024, and in 4th place in 2025 - the highest finish ever for GUFC Women. He has also been an assistant coach to Keith Mason for our men’s team, and was supposed to take over as head coach in 2026, before an opportunity closer to home made him leave Guelph.

Everyone at Guelph United would like to thank Randy for all the great work over these last two years, and to wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Guelph United is excited to announce the appointment of Michael Warden as Head Coach of our women’s team for the 2026 season.

Michael has been with our club since the beginning, working as an assistant coach to Randy Ribeiro, and also as head coach of our women’s Reserve team, in League2 Ontario. We’re excited for Michael to make the step up as head coach at the Premier Division level.

As for the men’s team, we will announce the name of our new head coach in due time.
