Sydney VanderHoef returns to Guelph United in double role

After one year away, Sydney VanderHoef is back with Guelph United - and not just in one role, but in two. She returns as a player on our senior roster, and will also be the head coach of our women’s U20 team, as part of the previously announced expanded partnership with Guelph Soccer.

Sydney has played for Guelph United for 3 full seasons, between 2022 and 2024, appearing in 38 matches and scoring 4 goals. Last year, she moved to Oakville SC, in L1O’s Championship Division (currently OPL2), playing in 11 matches and scoring twice.

Meanwhile, she has obtained her CSA coaching B license, and has worked for our partners from Guelph Soccer, where she was the head coach of their GU15 Academy team.

We’re excited to welcome Sydney back to the Bowl, and wish her luck in both of her roles this season!
