Guelph United signs U Sports standout Kyle Cordeiro

With less than a week to go before the start of the new season, Guelph United is happy to announce the signing of Canadian midfielder Kyle Cordeiro.

Cordeiro has spent the last 3 U Sports seasons playing for the St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, where he has managed to put up amazing stats, scoring 19 goals and registering 4 assists in 33 matches. In 2022 and 2023, he was selected as a First Team All-Star in AUS (Atlantic University Sport), and in 2023 he made the First Team All-Canadian list in all of U Sports. This last winter, he signed up for the 2024 CPL Draft, but was not selected.

Cordeiro also has League1 Ontario experience, playing for Hamilton United in 2022, and Electric City FC in 2023.

We are pleased to announce the signing of Kyle for the 2024 season. Kyle is a very dynamic midfielder who will bring creativity and energy into our midfield unit. We are pleased to welcome Kyle and look forward to seeing his impact on the pitch this season”, says Guelph United head coach Justin Springer.

I am grateful for the opportunity to join Guelph United this summer. I look forward to working with a great group of players and to have a strong season, as this club has in the past.
