GUFC signs two former Waterloo players, Markell Saddler and Malachi Ramsay

Guelph United is happy to announce the signing of Canadian forward Markell Saddler, as well as Canadian defender Malachi Ramsay.

Saddler has been one of the best forwards in League1 Ontario’s Championship Division in 2025, scoring 7 goals in 19 games for Waterloo United - one of those coming against Guelph United at the Bowl.

Before Waterloo, after a stint with UIC Eagles in NCAA, Markell signed with Sigma FC in 2019, appearing in 13 games and scoring once. After Sigma, he played for 1819 FC Barrie and North Mississauga SC.

Malachi Ramsay’s League1 experience also happened in Waterloo, where he played in 2024, appearing in 11 games and scoring once.

However, his biggest accomplishments came from his college career with Conestoga Condors. In 2024, at the end of his fifth season, he was awarded the OCAA Male Athlete of the Year award, for the best player in the entire league. Previously, Ramsay has also earned two OCAA all-star selections, the OCAA championship MVP, recognition as a Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) championship all-star, and an OCAA first team all-star.
